Case report · Timber industry & SAP
Freight costs that know the forest track too.
A leading timber processor settles hauliers per kilometre through SAP. The problem: the loading points are in the forest.
The starting point
Per-kilometre settlement through SAP only works if routing knows all driven kilometres. The kilometres of non-public forest tracks to the loading points are entirely missing from conventional routing: a systematic settlement error.
The solution
A service API takes start and destination from SAP and returns driven kilometres by road category, computed on the timber-industry special map. Because the same map also runs in the hauliers' navigation, both sides trust the numbers.
The result
Correct settlement of distance-based transport costs across all road categories, with an annual fee independent of transaction volume.
