The starting point

Construction sites, closures and changed one-way streets devalue even the best route plan if they only arrive with the next map release. For a Europe-wide distribution fleet, exactly that was the bottleneck.

The solution

A web application in which around 200 employees record changes to the Europe-wide road network. After a review step, the changes flow into Localion Cloud and take effect in routing immediately; updates of the commercial base map are reconciled automatically.

The result

Planning is based on the real world and thus genuinely cost-optimised: fewer detours, fewer failed deliveries, dependable time windows.
